Why This Wastewater Is Difficult
Recommended Treatment Approach
Each stream is reviewed for volatility, flammability, reaction risk, corrosion, foaming and crystallization. Pretreatment may include solvent recovery, neutralization, phase separation or oxidation. Low-temperature vacuum evaporation can concentrate suitable non-volatile components, while condensate may need polishing before reuse or discharge.
Suitable Applications and Important Limits
Potential applications include selected reactor and tank wash water, mother liquor, pharmaceutical-intermediate wastewater, fermentation or biotechnology concentration and membrane reject. Flammable, explosive, highly volatile or reactive feeds require dedicated process-safety review and may be unsuitable for a standard heat-pump evaporator.
Actual performance depends on feed composition, operating conditions and the required reuse or discharge objective. Representative testing is recommended for complex or variable streams.
